PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convergence compensating device capable of independently compensating only vertical mis-convergence in the middle part between the upper and lower part of a screen. SOLUTION: A coil circuit 13 is formed by connecting sub-coils LS1, LS2 and quadrupole coils L1-L3 to compensate horizontal mis-convergence to vertical deflection coils LV1, LV2 in series, a current growing big in the middle part between the upper and lower part of a screen when vertically deflected is generated based on a sawtooth current with a vertical cycle supplied through the vertical deflection coils LV1, LV2, by a rectifier circuit 13 using two kinds of diodes D2, D4 and D1, D3 having different forward voltages, and the current is sent to the sub-coils LS1, LS2 and the quadrupole coils L1-L3.
