PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the necessary memory capacity and to shorten the image processing time, and to shorten the tact time in inspection, etc., by providing a buffer means which stores compositing data, and reading the compositing data out of the buffer means and performing an image processing. SOLUTION: Image data obtained from a CCD is an example of monochromatic analog data (gray data). This circuit constitution converts the analog data into digital data and detects change points, and an incorporated DSP 1 acquires image data nearby change point address information together with the change point address information. Finally, the data are inputted to a composite change point buffer memory 300 as an image buffer and passed to another DSP 2 provided so as to perform a subpixel arithmetic process including filtering operation. Further, the arithmetic result can be passed to a host CPU through an interface 150.
