PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to inspect whether or not updating is securely reflected on design data edited on an editing device by referring to an update result after a design common data file is updated and then inspecting whether or not the updating is reflected. SOLUTION: A design data editing means 101 is actuated to read in design data and output them to a display device 111. Then, when a characteristic information editing command is inputted from an input device 110, the input data are edited and the result are recorded as editing result output data 109. When a common data reference command is inputted, a message for execution of a reference history acquiring means 102 is sent to an inspection control means 108. When a common data update command is inputted, a message for execution of an update history acquiring means 105 is sent to the means 108. Then, the command execution result is displayed on the display device 111. Here, the inspection control means 108 performs processes by the reference history acquiring means 102, update history acquiring means 105, and a consistency inspecting means 106.
