PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to obtain an enough light-condensing effect, when a lens, light-condensing optical device array and a solid-state image pick-up device are integrated. SOLUTION: A gradient index microlens array is used as a light-condensing optical device array. The gradient index microlens array 2 comprise of gradient index lenses 2a, 2b, 2c, etc., which are respectively formed in positions corresponding to picture elements 3a, 3b, 3c, etc., of a solid-state image-pickup device 3. In other words, each of the gradient index lenses 2a, 2b, 2c, etc., of the light- condensing optical device array 2 is positioned on the central axis (a straight line passing through the center of each pixel and perpendicular to the light receiving surface) of each of the pixels of the solid-state image-pickup device 3. With such a construction, light 4 from an image-pickup lens 1 is condensed in the pixels 3a, 3b, 3c, etc., of the solid-state image-pickup device 3 by the gradient index lenses 2a, 2b, 2c, etc., of the light-condensing optical device array 2.
