PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make actuatable a circuit and a program arranged partedly from a disk drive by generating a data signal transmitted to a computer and accessing a memory containing computer-readable information for characterizing a mass storage peripheral device. SOLUTION: A bus/mastering/bus such as a PCI bus mutually connects a chip set 72 with a PCI mass storage integrated circuit 54. The PCI mass storage I/C 54 may be integrated as a separate chip, or may be integrated with a chip set 72 provided in an optional prescribed computer system. A piece of I/C is provided for supporting three mass storage 58, 60, 62. A servo I/C 56 rotates the motor of the related mass storage peripheral devices 58, 60, 62, and houses a whole servo circuit required for controlling. The matter arranging the servo I/C on a mother board 52 is preferred, and further, the servo I/C is arranged in various places.
