PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete the attachment of an original detection sensor by the easy electrical correction of one time, to prevent the erroneous detection of original size and position due to a defective operation and to shorten fixing work time. SOLUTION: The original detection sensor 20 emits two light beams (1) and (2) from the lower part of an original platen 15, performs scanning with a reference position disposed separately from an original as a start point and sends out the light reception signals (RCV signals) of the reflected light and the signals (ST signals) of a prescribed interval for indicating the scanning position of the light beams (1) and (2) at scanning start/after start to a detection signal processing part 30. Then, prescribed interval signals from the original detection sensor 20 are counted by clock signals there, the original size and a vertical or horizontal arrangement state are judged based on the two scanning tracks (1) and (2) of the light reception signals from the original detection sensor 20 together with scanning position signals and a counted value and the attaching position of the original detection sensor 20 and the relative position of the original platen 15 are corrected.
