PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make one recording bit size smaller by irradiating a recording medium having at least one or more kinds of phosphors with proximity field light to annihilate the fluorescent characteristic of the prescribed phosphor in a microregion. SOLUTION: The distance between a microopening 50 and a high-polymer recording thin film 1 of an optical probe 5 is controlled to be constant at a wavelength or below and consequently, a proximity field light 51 is emitted from the microopening 50 and is irradiated to the recording thin film 1. The spot size, at which the recording thin film 1 is irradiated with the proximity field light 51, is nearly equal to the size of the microopening 50. Namely, only the microregion of the recording thin film 1 is irradiated by using the proximity field light 51. The recording thin film is irradiated with the light having the wavelength corresponding to the prescribed phosphor, by which the phosphor is photooxidized and the fluorescent characteristic thereof is annihilated. When the recording film 1 is irradiated with the proximity field light 51 emitted from the microopening 50 in this manner, the fluorescent characteristic of a phosphor B of the region I:10 is annihilated by the selected extinction light 9. |
