PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image artifact reduction technique capable of minimizing image artifacts at the time of using a color mapping system provided with the black dot of only K toner. SOLUTION: For the technique of reducing the image artifacts for a color image processor, a color map is realized so as not to generate a C, M or Y color value used for defining the black dot at a point other than the black dot at all. Further, a halftone lamp is realized to select a halftone pattern so as not to perform rendering for the C, M or Y color value used for obtaining the black dot, and to select the halftone pattern so as to perform complete rendering for a K color value used for obtaining the black dot.
