A rapid release tablet comprising as active ingredient tolfenamic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The tolfenamic acid has a mean particle size of ú 10 mm. The tablet comprises alginic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an amount of 1.5 - 6.0 % by weight and a superdisintegrant in an amount of at least 6 % by weight.
