PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a meter with a linear sender resistor with a small difference in the drive torque of a pointer according to the direction, where the pointer moves by connecting a resistor in series with the linear sender resistor. SOLUTION: A synthesis resistor of a sender unit 7 consisting of a linear sender resistor 13 and a connected resistor becomes larger than the resistance of the linear sender resistor 13 by the amount of resistance being connected. Therefore, the voltage across the terminals of the sender unit 7, namely the voltage across the terminals of a second coil 3, becomes larger than the voltage across the linear sender resistor 13. At this time, the increase rate of the voltage across the sender unit 7 becomes larger as the resistance of the linear sender resistor 13 becomes smaller, and it becomes lower as the resistance of the linear sender resistor 13 becomes larger. More specifically, the difference between the amount of change of the terminal voltage with the resistance of the linear sender resistor 13 is small and high becomes small. As a result, the amount of change in the magnetic field vector generated by the second coil 3 due to the change in the resistance of the linear sender resistor 13 becomes small, so that the difference in the magnitude of the drive torque of the needle according to the direction where the needle moves becomes small.
