PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement reagent capable of being used stably for a long period even in the opened state, and a measurement method. SOLUTION: This measurement reagent for test material in a sample, for which a detection reaction system of hydrogen peroxide produced by an oxidation enzyme is used, and in which an aniline derivative having an electron donor group is used as a chromogen, has following characteristics: (a) pH of a first reagent including the chromogen is 7.5 or more and (b) pH of the other reagent, namely, a second reagent is below the pH of the first reagent.
