PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image-pickup device by which an image pickup device is miniaturized and incidence of unwanted light which may cause flare or ghost is prevented. SOLUTION: An effective image-pickup area 31, a main OB part 43 and connection pads 44 are disposed on one side of a solid-state image-pickup device 32. The effective image-pickup area 31 is positioned, in such a way that the center of the solid-state image-pickup device 32 matches the center of the effective image-pickup area 31. A peripheral area 45 is disposed around the effective image-pickup area 31. The relation is established between the width A of a left peripheral area 45L and the width B of a right peripheral area 45R, A≈B. The main OB part 43 is disposed in the left peripheral area 45L. The relation between the width C from the end of the main OB part 43 disposed in the left peripheral area 45L to one end of the solid-state image-pickup device 32 and the width B from the end of the effective image-pickup area 31 of the right peripheral area 45R, in which the main OB part 43 is not disposed to the other end of the solid-state image-pickup device 32 is C<B.
