<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fully optical switch from deteriorating in extinction ratio. SOLUTION: The fully optical switch transmits or cuts off 2nd light having 2nd wavelength in synchronism with 1st input light having 1st wavelength and outputs it as output light. An optical interferometer is equipped with nonlinear semiconductor waveguides 10 and 11 and the 1st input light and 2nd input light are inputted. A monitor laser beam source 31 gives monitor beam having 3rd wavelength to the interferometer. An optical spectrum component analyzer takes a spectrum component analysis of output monitor light to obtain wavelength component intensity. Then a feedback control system 39 controls the phase bias of the interferometer according to the wavelength component intensity. Namely, the feedback control system controls a phase adjuster 26.</p> |
