A papermaker's fabric (20) includes a base fabric structure that includes MD yarn (22, 24- 34) and primary CMD yarns (40, 42, 44, 46) interlaced to form a papermaker's fabric. This invention further includes first and second auxiliary CMD yarns (40b, 42a, 42b, 44a, 44b, 46a) positioned between each pair of adjacent primary CMD yarns. Each first auxiliary CMD (42a, 44a, 46a) yarn has an interlacing pattern relative to the MD yarns that is identical to a first of the pair of adjacent primary CMD yarns (40, 44). Each second auxiliary CMD yarn (40b, 42b, 44b) has an interlacing pattern relative to the MD yarns that is identical to a second of the pair of adjacent primary CMD yarns (42, 46). The first auxiliary CMD yarn is positioned between the second primary and auxiliary CMD yarns. Also claimed is the method involved in the making of paper using the papermarker's fabric described herein.
