PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress corrosion of a collector plate, cathode-gas passages, and the like, and increase power generating efficiency, by inputting values detected by oxygen concentration sensors provided in gas exhaust passages into a control part and, if a reference value is exceeded, passing an inert gas through gas supply passages by operating first and second flow valves. SOLUTION: The gases flowing through respective gas-exhaust passages 11, 12, 13 are measured by oxygen-concentration sensors 22, and measured values are inputted into a control part 23. That is, O2 concentrations of the gases are always monitored by the control part 23 by means of the oxygen- concentration sensors 22 for measuring the O2 concentration of a cathode gas or oxidizing gas 17G, that of an anode gas or fuel gas 18G, and that of a gas in a battery container 2. When a reference value is exceeded, the control part 23 increases the flow rate of N2 gas as inert gas for diluting the oxygen concentration by closing a first flow valve 24 and opening a second flow valve 25, thus increasing the amount of O2-diluent and decreasing the O2 concentration. The O2 concentrations are controlled within the range of 1% to 0.001% by the control part 23. |
