摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display quality by connecting an electrically conductive light- shielding later placed correspondingly to a data line to a pixel electrode in a first pixel region and also connecting another conductive light-shielding layer placed correspondingly to a scanning line to a pixel electrode in a second pixel region adjacent to the first pixel region. SOLUTION: In this device, a transparent substrate is provided on its surface side with an upper layer side interlayer insulating film 115 and a chromium layer 116bb (conductive light-shielding layer) that has both light-shielding properties and electric conductivity and formed on the surface of the upper layer side interlayer insulating film 115. The chromium layer 116bb is subjected to electrically conducive connection to a pixel electrode 106 through a connection hole of the upper layer side interlayer insulating film 115, in a pixel region 101bb at its corner opposite to a part of the region 101bb, in which a TFT 108 is formed, namely, at its corner in the vicinity of the intersection of two beltlike zones formed from boundary regions between the respective adjacent pairs of pixel regions 101bb, 101ab, 101ac and 101bc. Such a conductive light-shielding layer as the chromium layer 116bb is similarly formed in each pixel region, however, any chromium layer (conductive light-shielding layer) in a pixel region is insulated and separated from a similar chromium layer in any other adjacent pixel region.
