PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sensitivity, fog, and storage stability with time by incorporating an emulsion having a specified coefft. of variation in the particle size, projected area and aspect ratio into at lest one of four kinds of photosensitive layers. SOLUTION: This photographic sensitive material has red, yellow and blue photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and a non-visible ray-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one kind of compd. expressed by the formula I or II and at least one kind of an image quality improving agent. At least one of the four photosensitive layers contains a planer silver halide emulsion having <=20% coefft. of variation of the particle size and having particles with >=3 aspect ratio by >=50% of the projected area. In the formula I and formula II, each Z11, Z12, Z21, Z22 represents a group of nonmetal atoms necessary to form a five- or six-member monocycle or condensed nitrogen-contg. heterocycle, each R11, R12, R21, R22 is an aliphatic group, each of X11, X21 and m11, m21 is ion and the number of ions necessary to compensate the charge in each molecule, and each n11, n12, n21, n22 is 0 or 1.
