PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory dump file reconstituting system where a preserved area is set to be a minimum in a system, which fetches and preserves a memory dump for investigating a cause when a fault occurs in a computer system. SOLUTION: A dump fetching device 1 generates a page table holding information showing a use purpose and a page position for respective pages, and generates a memory dump file containing the content of the memory and the page table, when a fault occurs. A reconstituting device 3 retrieves the page, which is not required since it has no relation with a fault cause from the page table, deletes the page detected by the retrieval from the memory dump file, describes that the page has been deleted to the item of the page table, which corresponds to the deleted page, and updates a page position. An outer storage device 4 stores a memory dump containing the page table and dump data generated by the dump fetching device and the reconstituting device.
