PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic image fiber which is capable of transmitting bright and fine images in a clear state without crosstalks and is highly durable against bending. SOLUTION: The image fiber formed by arraying and integrating many plastic fibers is so formed that the free shrinkage rate S(%) expressed by the equation S=(L1-L2)/L1×100 attains 35%<=S<=65% when the length of the image fiber at room temp. (25 deg.C) is expressed by L1 and the length of the image fiber after resting for 20 minutes under an atmosphere of 120 deg.C without load by L2.
