PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a password input device improving a burglar-proof property and the efficiency of ID information registration by inputting a password through a telephone line. SOLUTION: When an on-vehicle telephone set 3 on a vehicle 1 is called from a general telephone set 7 through a public telephone line 5 to transmit a password, an on-vehicle electronic system 9 on the vehicle 1 receives the password through a public line communication means 11 and compares the received password with a password previously stored in a password storing means 13 by a password certification means 15. At the time of judging the coincidence of both the passwords, an ID information registration permission state is set up, and when the system 9 is turned to an ID information registerable state, an external tester 31 registers ID information in the system 9 under the control of a control instruction means 35 through a vehicle communication means 33. |
