A dry form of an active principle is prepared and placed in a syringe 19 under vacuum. The syringe 19 is attached to a syringe 21 containing a liquid medium 22, and the liquid 22 is drawn into the syringe 18 by the vacuum within it to form an injectable preparation. The syringe 19 can then be used to inject the preparation. The liquid 22 may be drawn into syringe through a needle 25 that pierces a cap in syringe 21, alternatively the two syringes can be connected by a valve or tap. The syringe pair can be provided as a package 31.
