Protuberant member 8 is part of a drop side of a cot (not shown). On lifting from a lowered position a user need only apply a vertical force and spring 6 then forces member 8 into a dropping section of the track. To lower the drop side it is then necessary to raise the drop side and member 8 vertically and then force it laterally against the bias of spring 6.
