PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the output of unrequired commands and to accelerate a printing processing by providing a selection branches so as not to output the pertinent command in the selection branches of a settable item. SOLUTION: An operation mode setting part 3 is for setting the operation mode of a printer 4, is activated by a user before performing printing in the printer 4 and performs setting suitable for a printing matter. For the display contents 31 of 'change of setting of printing direction' displayed at a non- entered display part by the operation mode setting part 3, in the example, 'do not output command' is set. In this case, the need of outputting a unidirectional printing specifying command or a unidirectional printing release command is eliminated. Also, for the display contents 32 of 'change of setting of signal slip system command', in the example, 'do not output command' is set. In this case, since the need of outputting the command relating to upper end margin specification, paper feed and discharge is eliminated, the printing processing is accelerated.
