The designating method uses at least one sensor unit (12), which identifies pref. geometric characteristics of a ware (20,21). Depending on the characteristics a pref. place is determined on the ware, and a designation is applied on the pref. place of the ware (20,21). The identifying of the characteristics, esp. the geometry of the ware, results in a predetermined, pref. vertical spatial direction.
