The computer system has a data output unit (16) with an equipment trigger connection (26) for controlling its on/off states. This also controls a position decoder (22) between the address bus and the trigger connection. When a certain defined address is placed on the address bus, by the processor (18), the position decoder triggers the data output unit. This is such when the processor reads a data value from the data input unit, via the data bus, it writes the value into the data output device during an instruction cycle. In this way the data transmission rate between input and output is increased.
