A carrier, in the form of water or product-compatible liquid, is heated in a heat exchanger (3) and is supplied by means of a pump (1) to a reactor (2) positioned in the refuse to be buried. The mixture of carrier and refuse is conveyed at high speed from the reactor via the heat exchanger, regulator (6), a pipe (5) and nozzles (7) back into the reactor where it is mixed with a refuse produce flowing through an opening (9) in the reactor. The product obtained is conveyed into a storage container by opening the regulator.
