METHOD FOR POLYMERIZING CONJUGATED DIOLEFINS (DIENES) WITH CATALYSTS BASED ON VANADIUM COMPOUNDS IN THE PRESENCE OF VINYLAROMATIC SOLVENTS

Conjugated diolefins, optionally combined with other unsaturated compounds that may be copolymerized, are polymerized by conducting polymerization of t he diolefins in the presence of catalysts based on monocyclopentadienyl vanadiu m compounds and alumoxane in the presence of aromatic vinyl compounds at temperatures ranging from -0 ~C to +80 ~C. The invention provides a simple method for producing polydiolefin solutions such as polybutadiene with contents of 1,2-units of 10 to 30 % in aromatic vinyl compounds which can be further processed to obtain ABS or HIPS.
