<p>The invention concerns a treatment method and device for increasing the porosity of clay-type supports essentially comprising metal atoms in their structures in general and its particular application to sepiolite. The method consists in subjecting said supports to a sensitizing acid wash and to centrifugation and drying the treated active matter with ultrasonic waves so as to stress the silica (21) and magnesium (23) molecular bond of the porosity (30) open structure of said supports and generate a shearing effect (26) to release the heavy magnesium atoms (23) from the silica structure. Such a treatment applied to sepiolite increases the intercrystalline cross-section of the porosity and sensitizes the internal exchange surfaces.</p> |
