A heavy duty mattress is secured to a hard surface by a series of anchorage pins with a head (19), shank (9) and threaded tip (10) retained in a matching plug (2) inserted into a hole (2) drilled in the hard substrate (17). The upper part (7) of the hole (2) is of larger diameter and holds an elastomer plug (4) through which the bolt is inserted and tightened. The plug forms a very tight fit around the bolt shank.
