A roller bearing incorporates a play-adjustment mechanism consisting of two concentric bearing rings (2, 4). One of the rings (4) is assembled from two parts. The two-part ring (4) has two races (8, 9) separated by a slit (5) whose axial width is adjustable. The ring (4) is held together by a fixture (14, 16, 18).
