FIELD: mechanical engineering; passenger cars. SUBSTANCE: proposed steering gear is designed for installation on instrument panel with provision of active and passive safety. Steering gear thin-walled housing 1 whose front part is coupled with steering wheel 2 by spokes 3, and rear part is coupled with steering shaft 6 by means of planetary mechanism rim 4 and gear 5. Split block 8 secured stationary on steering shaft case 7. Air bag housing 9 is secured stationary on block 8. Explosion device 10 and folded air bag 11 are arranged inside housing along axis of steering shaft 6. Air bag housing 9 is covered in front upper part by housing 12 of instrument cluster with information cells which are electrically connected with control elements through split block 8, and in front lower part, by cover 15 of air bag housing. Plastic-moulded housing 12 of instrument cluster is provided with marked out breakage line in its mass. Cover of air bag housing is cast of elastic material. EFFECT: optimized passive safety of steering gear with provision of 100% visibility in operation owing to installation of instrument cluster and air bag inside steering wheel perimeter. 2 cl, 2 dwg |
