[Also in Division C2] In a photographic silver salt diffusion process, development and diffusion are effected in the presence of at least one compound of the formula; - where R 1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-5 carbons, aralkyl or aryl and X is -NH 2 or -NH-CO-R 2 where R 2 is alkyl of 1-5 carbons and when R 1 is hydrogen X is -NH-CO-R 2 . The compounds are toners and those where X is -NH 2 are development accelerators. More than one compound of the above formula may be used and the compound or compounds may be present in the light-sensitive material, in the image-receiving material or in the developer.
