The string-holder (1) for a stringed instrument comprises a fiber composite material made of carbon fibers and synthetic resin in a proportion of 60%:40%. The carbon fibers are in the form of tissue with chain and weft at 45 deg to the strings' direction of tension. The string-holder is produced by placing the tissue in several layers in a first half of the mold, and impregnating the tissue with synthetic resin. The mold is closed by the second half of the mold. The mold halves are heated to ca. 80 deg C and compressed especially to a maximum of 5 bars.
