A hot air apparatus has an electric motor-driven fan for generating a directed air stream (3) and a heating source warming up the air stream. Not only the fan but also the heating source are supplied with electrical energy from an accumulator (4). The heating source comprises several filament lamps (5) located at a specified distance from one another, one behind the other in a series in the direction of the air stream. The lamps are conventional halogen lamps with a rated voltage of six or twelve volts. The lamps are wired in parallel. A housing (6) is provided with an air flow channel (8) and outlet opening (7) and at least one of the filament lamps is located near the outlet opening.
