FIELD: power plant engineering; off- line power supplies for transport. SUBSTANCE: converter has two opposing cylinders 1, 2 with pistons 3, 4 connected to rods 4, 5, 6, 7 which mount rotor 8 carrying running winding 10 and moving inside stator; the latter has coaxially arranged external part 10 with field winding 11 and internal part 12. Cylinders are provided with combustible mixture admission ports 13, exhaust gas outlet ports 14, bypass channels 15, 16, and spark plugs 17, 18. Sliding contacts of rotor, fixed contacts of stator, and power leads form rotor circuit. Intermediate supports 25, 26 function to support cylinders and stator. Ignition commencement sensor and starting switch are not shown on illustration. EFFECT: improved power output and efficiency; enlarged functional capabilities. 2 cl, 2 dwg
