PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the remote control of home electric appliances at low cost without the limitation of the setting place of an operator console such as a telephone set performing control with the home electric appliances by providing an operator console that performs control by radio with respect to a control adapter attached to a remote control light receiving part. SOLUTION: A PHS master unit 100 of a PHS slave unit 101 which has a videophone function as the operator console of a home electric appliance 150 is arranged. The appliance 150 is provided with a control adapter 110 and the adapter 110 decodes a signal sent from respective places by the operation of a PHS master unit videophone 100 or a PHS slave unit videophone 101 and outputs a remote control signal that is for controlling the electric appliance. In the case of controlling the apparatus 150, a control menu is shown on the screen of the videophone. A user can easily transmit a signal which is for electric apparatus control by selecting a desired control item from the control menu.
