PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize heating speedily corresponding to the variation of the temperature of a cooking surface by providing plural thermostats and parallelly connecting the respective contacts of these thermostats in a system obtained by serially connecting the contacts of the thermostats to a heater. SOLUTION: A hot plate as a cooker is obtained by fixing a thermal insulation plate 3 onto the bottom surface 2 of a cooker main body 1 through mounting legs, fitting a heater 5 onto the plate 3 and mounting a cooking plate 6 on the heater 5. In addition, two thermostats 7 are installed on the surface 2 of the main body 1. These thermostats 7 are respectively constituted of a bimetal 9, the contact 11 and a rotation adjusting member 12 for adjusting temperature and the respective contacts 11 are parallelly connected and serially connected to the heater 5. Then, when the member 12 is turned by operation from outside, energizing of the fixing pieces 17 of the contacts 11 is adjusted to vary a temperature turning off the contacts 11.
