PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smooth fishing line having small surface unevenness in the circumferential direction, and proper stiffness by braiding plural yarns obtained by doubling multifilament yarns or monofilament yarns, composed of a synthetic resin, with metallic fibers having a large specific gravity. SOLUTION: This fishing line is obtained by braiding plural yarns 4 obtained by doubling multifilament yarns 2 or monofilament yarns, composed of a synthetic resin, with metallic yarns 3 having >=6.00 specific gravity. Preferably, the yarn 2 has >=20 g/de tensile strength and <=8% breaking elongation. Preferably, the monofilament yarn has >=7 g/de tensile strength and <=30% breaking elongation. The braiding is preferably carried out by arranging another metallic wire without the metallic wire constituting each of the yarn at the core yarn part 5 of the fishing line therewith, because the fishing line having an arbitrary specific gravity and capable of readily dealing with the depth of water and the flow of the tide can be obtained. A copper wire is preferable as the metallic wire at the core yarn part 5.
