PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly safe inhibitor having excellent collagenase inhibitory activity by including, as active ingredient, the glycolipid-contg. extract of bran, embryo buds or grain flour. SOLUTION: This collagenase inhibitor is obtained by including, as active ingredient, the glycolipid-contg. extract of bran, embryo buds or grain flour; wherein the above glycolipid-contg. extract means that of bran (hull) of grains such as wheat, barley, rye and oats, embryo buds such as wheat bran or wheat embryo buds, or grain flour such as wheat flour. These extracts are afforded, normally using an organic solvent; for example, when wheat bran is used as a raw material for extraction, the extract afforded contains oils derived from embryo buds other than glycolipids; in this case, the extract is also referred to as a glycolipid-contg. germ oil, which is afforded, for example, by subjecting the hydrophilic organic solvent extract of grains to further extraction with a nonhydrophilic organic solvent. |
