PURPOSE: Intersomatic vertebra setting and fusion system including at least one open housing for receiving a spongy bone to be inserted between two vertebrae during a dissectomy. CONSTITUTION: At least an open housing cage is constructed by assembling at least a housing cage into at least a plate, and an intersomatic vertebra setting and fusion system is consisted of a series of open housing cages capable of receiving the spongy bone, and open housing cages are inserted between two vertebrae during a dissectomy. The housing cage(1) is united with a plate(12) on its front surface(5) or side surface, and the angle between the housing cage and the plate is perpendicular. The plate is provided at each of the ends thereof with means (13, 14) for anchoring the plate to at least two adjacent vertebrae to be secured to each other by means of the cage.
