HOT MELTABLE FLUORORESIN HOLLOW FIBER AND ITS PRODUCTION AS WELL AS HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot meltable fluororesin hollow fiber having excellent chemical resistance and heat resistance as well as good pressure resistance and gas permeability and having excellent handling quality, and a process for producing the same, and a hollow fiber membrane module formed by using the hot meltable fluororesin hollow fiber. SOLUTION: A core fiber is provided with a nonporous inside layer 2 consisting of the hot meltable fluororesin and further the surface of the inside layer 2 is coated with a solid consisting of the hot meltable fluororesin and a resin soluble in a solvent at temp. below the m.p. of the hot meltable fluororesin. Further, the coated core fiber is heat treated at a temp. above the m.p. of the hot meltable fluororesin. The resin soluble in the solvent is eluted away by the solvent and the core fiber is removed by stretching. A porous outside layer 3 of the hot meltable fluororesin hollow fiber and the sealing material of the hot meltable fluororesin are melted and integrated to seal the end of the hollow fiber membrane module.
