PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled root crop harvester for digging a root crop out of soil covered with a mulching film, pulling and transferring the crop and storing in a storing container while preventing the drawing of the mulching film in the dragging of the leaf of the root crop. SOLUTION: This self-propelled root crop harvester is provided with a dragging conveyor B to clamp the leaf and stalk part of a root crop on a field from both sides and transfer the crop upward to the back to pull the crop out of the field. When the leaf of the root crop is clamped at the front end of the conveyor and transferred upward to the back, the root crop is lifted and the mulching film 70 covering the crop is also lifted at the same time. To prevent the trouble, the mulching film is pressed at both sides of the crop with right and left film-pressing rollers 65 to effect the transfer of exclusively the root crop with the dragging conveyor to the back.
