PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control fuel injection according to engine operation conditions by controlling a leakage amount of fuel from a pressure control chamber based on an operation rate of an opening/closing valve which is operated by an actuator. SOLUTION: Leak of high pressure fuel from a pressure control chamber 40 of an injector 60 is determined according to a lifting rate of an opening/ closing valve 42, when the lifting rate of the valve 42 is small and an aperture area of the valve 42 is smaller than a sectional area of a leak passage 41. A lifting rate of a needle valve 24, that is, a fuel injection ratio, in other words, variation ratios of a fuel injection amount and a variation ratio of the fuel injection ratio are controlled according to pressure reduction in the pressure control chamber 40. A driving signal to an actuator for operating the opening/ closing valve 42 is determined correspondingly to a target fuel injection ratio obtained based on operation conditions of an engine, for controlling the fuel injection ratio, etc.
