摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain and improve the capacity for locomotion by improving the enteral environment of sports players. SOLUTION: A functional food which is a combination of a lactic acid bacterium with an oligosaccharide having certain kinds of functions and characterized by enteric activity is orally ingested. The product prepared from the combination of a sporogenous lactic acid bacterium with the oligosaccharide is made useful for the maintaining and improving the capacity for locomotion of sports payers. The sporogenous lactic acid bacterium is a facultative anaerobic bacterium having characteristics of excellence in thermostability, acid, sugar and salt tolerances, or the like, and ultrahigh storage life though lactic acid is merely produced due to its homofermentative type without becoming a main indigeneous bacterium as opposed to a bifidus bacterium and capable of sufficiently making the best of characteristics absent in the bifidus bacterium that is an obligate anaerobic bacterium, further adding characteristics of the oligosaccharide thereto and expecting effects on an improvement in enteral florae, promotion of mineral absorption and immunopotentiation and synthesis of vitamins.
