摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel consumption while inhibiting generation of soot and NOx. SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 6 and an ignition plug 7 are arranged inside a combustion chamber 5, and fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve 6 in a final stage of a compression process. As an amount of EGR gas is increased, a generation amount of soot shows a peak point. When the amount of the EGR gas is further increased, generation of soot is then stopped. An EGR gas amount in the combustion chamber 5 is set larger than the value for showing the peak point of the soot generation, so that soot generation in the combustion chamber 5 is prevented.</p>
