PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat mechanism with an easily handled leg placing rest. SOLUTION: This seat mechanism has a seat with a storing space below a seat cushion 71, a rail 8 laid in the back and forth direction on the floor below the seat and a leg placing rest which is provided movably on the rail 8 and can be stored in the storing space of the seat by moving it on the rail 8 and the leg placing rest 1 has a movable rest 2 provided movably on the rail 8, leg placing members 4 and 5 for placing legs which are freely rotatably supported on the movable rest 2 and can be set under a used condition where it is inclined at a specified angle and under a stored condition where it is rotated in the laid down direction from the used condition and an energizing member 18 energizing always the leg placing members 4 and 5 in the laid down direction.
