PURPOSE: A use of a benzonaphthalene is provided to manufacture a medicament for treating diseases of peripheral neuropathies, central neurodegenerative disease, and autoimmune disease of the nervous system. CONSTITUTION: A benzonaphthalene derivative is used for treating diseases effecting to an active nerve such as an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and for treating a traumatic, an ischemic, a metabolic, an infectious, and a genotyped peripheral neuropathies. And the derivative can be used for manufacturing a medicine for treating a dementia with a diktyoma, a cerebrum aging, and a multiple infarct and an arterial dementia, and for treating an olivopontocerebellar atrophy and other neurodegenerative diseases such as the Alzheimer's disease and the Huntington's chorea.
