PURPOSE: A channel selection method of satellite broadcast receiver is provided to present more convenient channel selection environment about a satellite broadcast receiver to user. CONSTITUTION: The channel selection method of satellite broadcast receiver comprises: the first step receiving the satellite broadcast signal if the power of the receiver is ON, and extracting and storing the channel segmentation information contained in the received satellite broadcast signal; the second step performing general view mode displaying the broadcast signal about the channel selected by user, and checking the appliance of the channel changing key signal for changing the channel; the third step stopping the display of the prescribed channel performing the general view mode, and changed to the channel changing mode for sequentially displaying the broadcast signals of the channel corresponding to the channel segmentation information stored in the first for prescribed time; and the forth step changed to the general view mode for displaying the broadcast signal of the channel in applying the channel selection key signal.
