PURPOSE: An automatic meter reading system is provided, which effectively comprises a system network to sharply decrease a number of repeater. CONSTITUTION: An automatic meter reading system comprises: a meter (T11-T1n) for measuring an using power amount to transmit; a meter for repeater to be assigned to a certain region (TC1-TCn) for transmitting an using power amount in established place and an using power amount received from the meter (T111-T1nn) of assigned region (TC1-TCn); a repeater (I1-In) to be assigned to a certain region for transmitting an using amount information from the meter for repeater (IT1-ITn) in the assigned region and an using amount information from the meter (T11-T1n) in the assigned region (IC1-ICn); and a main system (1) corresponded to the using amount information for laying a cost to user of the meter for repeater (IT1-ITn) and the meter(T11-T1n, T111-T1nn). Therefore, cell regions to be charged of the repeater between the meter and the main system is substantially expanded to sharply decrease a number of the repeater.
