PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a driving feeling by performing inter-vehicle distance control of vehicle behavior more adjusted to a sense of a driver by paying attention to a rate of an inter-vehicle deviation to a target inter-vehicle deviation. SOLUTION: Target acceleration is calculated by using the ratio of an inter- vehicle distance deviationΔd to a target inter-vehicle distance dm. Even if the inter-vehicle distance deviationΔd is, for example, 10 m and the same, when the target inter-vehicle distance dm is 100 m (2A), the inter-vehicle distance deviation ratio becomes 10/100=1/10, and when the target inter-vehicle distance dm is 50 m (2B), the inter-vehicle distance deviation ratio becomes 10/50=1/5, and target acceleration of both is different. Deceleration in (2A) is smaller than deceleration in (2B), that is, a gentle deceleration degree is attained. While a distance approaches only by 10% to the target inter-vehicle distance dm in (2A), since the distance approaches by even 20% to the target inter-vehicle distance dm in (2B), that a deceleration degree in (2B) is larger than (2A) means being fit for a feeling of a driver.
